Meet Safina

Hello, I’m Safina, a London-based private tutor with more than eight years of experience supporting students from primary level through to university in Maths, English and Business, alongside academic English for international learners.I also work as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK secondary and sixth-form school, which has strengthened my ability to adapt explanations and support very different learners.Students make stronger progress when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building understanding without judgement.

Safina supports students from Year 3 through to university, as well as adult and international learners. Suitability depends on the subject and the student's individual requirements.

Are all lessons online?

Yes. Lessons are delivered online through Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Students can attend from across the UK or internationally.

How long is each lesson?

Standard lessons last 60 minutes.

Does Safina offer a free trial lesson?

Safina offers a free 15-minute consultation, not a free teaching lesson. The first full assessment and teaching session is charged at the relevant flexible-session rate.

How do monthly plans work?

Monthly plans include four, eight or twelve 60-minute lessons. Payment is made in advance, and regular lesson times are reserved once the plan is confirmed.

What happens during a five-week month?

Monthly plans contain a fixed number of lessons. A student on a four-lesson plan receives four lessons. Where an additional lesson is requested during a five-week month, it can be purchased at the normal monthly-plan rate, subject to availability.

Can lessons be rearranged?

Lessons may be rearranged when sufficient notice is provided and Safina has an alternative time available. Full cancellation and rescheduling terms are shared before tuition begins.

Does Safina work with students who have SEN?

Safina uses an SEN-aware and adaptable approach informed by her current school-based experience. Suitability is discussed with the parent or guardian, particularly where a student has more significant or complex needs.

Which exam boards does Safina support?

Safina can adapt tuition to AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR specifications, with Cambridge International support where applicable.

What kind of university support does Safina provide?

Safina provides ethical guidance with understanding course material, research, structure, reports, presentations, referencing and academic writing. She does not write assignments or complete assessed work.

Can international students book lessons?

Yes. Safina supports international learners studying in the UK and overseas, subject to subject suitability and time-zone availability.

Is Safina DBS checked?

Yes. Safina holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and is registered with the Update Service.

How is payment made?

Monthly plans and flexible lessons are paid in advance using the payment options provided after the consultation.

Are results guaranteed?

No tutor can ethically guarantee a particular grade. Safina provides structured, personalised support, but outcomes also depend on the student's attendance, effort, starting point and wider academic circumstances.

3. Information about children and young people

Enquiries for students under 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian. During tuition, Safina may need limited personal information about the student in order to plan and deliver appropriate lessons. We aim to collect only information that is relevant to tuition, safeguarding, administration or legal requirements.

Parents and guardians should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information. Where information about health, disability or additional learning needs is relevant to tuition and is voluntarily provided, it will be handled with additional care and only used where there is a valid legal basis and, where required, an additional condition for processing sensitive information.

4. Why we use personal information

We may use personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and arrange a free consultation.
  • Assess whether Safina's tuition is suitable for the student's needs.
  • Create lesson plans, provide tuition and review learning priorities.
  • Communicate with adult students or with parents/guardians of students under 18.

7. How long information is kept

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, safeguarding and dispute-resolution requirements.

  • Enquiries that do not become tuition clients: normally up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless there is a reason to retain them longer.
  • Routine lesson and client administration records: reviewed after tuition ends and retained only where needed for legitimate business, safeguarding or legal purposes.
  • Financial and tax records: normally retained for up to 6 years, or longer where required by law.
  • Marketing records: retained until consent is withdrawn or the information is no longer needed.
  • Cookie-consent records: retained for the period required by the consent-management tool or applicable compliance requirements.

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights over your personal information, including rights to be informed, access your data, ask for inaccurate data to be corrected, request deletion or restriction, object to certain processing, request data portability and withdraw consent where consent is the lawful basis.

Terms & Cancellation Information

1. About these terms

These terms explain the basis on which Safina Tutoring Academy provides online tutoring services. Booking or paying for tuition means that the person responsible for the booking agrees to these terms. For a student under 18, the contract is with the parent or legal guardian responsible for the booking and payment.

2. Consultation and suitability

The initial 15-minute consultation is free. It is used to discuss the student's subject, level, goals, availability and suitability for tuition. It is not a teaching lesson and does not guarantee that Safina will accept the student.

Safina may decline or discontinue tuition where the requested subject, level, learning need, availability or circumstances fall outside the support she can appropriately provide.

3. Lessons

Standard lessons are 60 minutes and are delivered online using Microsoft Teams or Zoom unless another arrangement is agreed in writing.

Safina will prepare lessons in line with the student's agreed subject, level and current priorities. Tuition is educational support and does not guarantee a particular grade, examination result, admission outcome or other academic result.

4. First paid lesson

The first full assessment and teaching lesson is paid at the relevant flexible single-lesson rate. After this lesson, Safina may recommend a monthly plan or continued flexible lessons, subject to availability.

5. Monthly plans

Monthly plans reserve a fixed number of personalised 60-minute lessons for the relevant month and are paid in advance.

  • Weekly Progress: 4 lessons per month.
  • Accelerated Progress: 8 lessons per month.
  • Intensive Exam Support: 12 lessons per month, offered only where Safina considers the frequency suitable and has appropriate availability.
  • A five-week calendar month does not automatically include an additional lesson. An extra session may be purchased at the applicable plan rate, subject to availability.
  • Monthly plans do not create a guaranteed long-term place beyond the period paid for. Future availability is confirmed as tuition continues.
  • Unless Safina and the client expressly agree to an automatic recurring-payment arrangement, plans are paid month by month and do not renew automatically.

6. Prices and payment

Current prices are shown on the Pricing section of the website. The applicable price will be confirmed before payment is taken.

Lessons and monthly plans must be paid in advance using the payment method or payment link provided after the consultation. A regular lesson time is not reserved until the required payment has been received.

If a price changes, existing clients will be given reasonable notice before the new rate applies to a future booking or monthly plan.

7. Rearranging or cancelling a lesson

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if a booked lesson needs to be rearranged or cancelled.

  • With at least 24 hours' notice: Safina will make reasonable efforts to rearrange the lesson, subject to availability. A replacement time is not guaranteed.
  • With less than 24 hours' notice: the lesson may be treated as used and the fee may remain payable, because the reserved time may not be capable of being offered to another student.
  • No-show: if the student does not attend and no reasonable notice has been provided, the lesson may be treated as used.
  • Safina may use reasonable discretion in genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances.
  • If Safina needs to cancel a paid lesson, the lesson will be rearranged or an appropriate credit/refund will be offered.

8. Late arrival and technical issues

If a student joins late, the lesson will normally still finish at the scheduled time. Safina will not intentionally shorten a lesson because of a technical issue on her side.

If significant technical problems prevent a lesson from being delivered, Safina will decide fairly whether to continue, rearrange the remaining time or provide an appropriate credit. Clients are responsible for having a suitable internet connection, device and quiet learning environment.

9. Ending regular tuition

A client may choose not to purchase a further monthly plan. Where a future month has already been paid for, cancellation and refund rights will depend on the timing of cancellation, any lessons already delivered and applicable consumer law.

Safina may end tuition where there are repeated missed payments, persistent non-attendance, inappropriate conduct, safeguarding concerns, academic-integrity concerns, or where continuing tuition is no longer appropriate. Where reasonably possible, notice will be given.

10. Online cancellation rights

Where a consumer enters into a tutoring contract online or at a distance, statutory cancellation rights may apply. In general, a consumer may have a 14-day cancellation period beginning after the contract is entered into.

If you ask Safina Tutoring Academy to begin providing paid services during that cancellation period, you may be asked to expressly request early performance. If you then cancel after services have begun, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied, where the law permits.

Nothing in these terms removes or reduces any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

11. Learning materials and intellectual property

Lesson plans, worksheets, explanations and resources supplied by Safina are for the student's personal educational use unless stated otherwise. They must not be sold, republished, uploaded publicly, shared commercially or represented as someone else's work without permission.

12. Recording lessons

Lessons must not be audio-recorded, video-recorded, screen-recorded or livestreamed by either party without prior agreement. For a student under 18, any agreed recording must also have the parent or legal guardian's permission.

13. Conduct

Students and parents are expected to communicate respectfully. Safina may end a session or discontinue tuition in cases of abusive, threatening, discriminatory, unsafe or seriously inappropriate behaviour.

1. Safeguarding commitment

Safina Tutoring Academy is committed to providing a safe, respectful and professional online learning environment for children, young people and adults.

Safeguarding means taking reasonable steps to protect children and vulnerable people from harm and responding appropriately when a concern arises.

2. Students under 18

  • Enquiries and bookings for a student under 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian.
  • A parent or guardian should provide accurate contact details and remain responsible for the student's welfare outside the tutoring session.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring the student has an appropriate place to participate in the online lesson.
  • Safina may contact the parent or guardian about attendance, learning priorities, behaviour, safeguarding or other matters relevant to tuition.

3. Online lesson boundaries

  • Lessons are delivered through agreed professional platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Safina will maintain professional boundaries and will not use private social-media accounts to communicate with school-age students.
  • Routine administration concerning a student under 18 should ordinarily be handled through the parent or guardian.
  • Lessons should not be recorded, photographed, screen-recorded or livestreamed without prior agreement. For a student under 18, parent/guardian permission is required.
  • Safina will not request unnecessary personal, medical or family information from a student.

4. Safeguarding concerns or disclosures

If Safina becomes concerned that a child, young person or vulnerable person may be at risk of harm, or if a student makes a safeguarding disclosure, Safina will listen calmly, avoid promising secrecy, make an appropriate factual record and consider what action is necessary.

Depending on the circumstances, Safina may need to share relevant information with the parent/guardian, an appropriate safeguarding professional, the student's education setting, local safeguarding services, police or emergency services. Only information reasonably necessary for the safeguarding purpose should be shared.

Where informing a parent or guardian could increase the risk to the student, Safina may seek appropriate safeguarding advice before making contact.

5. Immediate danger

Safina Tutoring Academy is not an emergency service. If there is an immediate risk of serious harm or an emergency during a session, appropriate emergency assistance may be contacted.

6. Additional learning needs

Safina's school-based experience includes supporting students with a range of additional learning needs and learning difficulties. Her tutoring approach can include additional structure, patient repetition, clear instructions, confidence-building techniques and lessons adapted to the student's individual needs.

For students with more significant or complex needs, Safina will discuss suitability and requirements with the parent or guardian before independent online tuition begins.

There is no additional charge simply because a student has an additional learning need.

7. Suitability and limits of the service

Online private tuition is an educational service and is not a substitute for specialist therapeutic, medical, psychological, social-care or crisis support.

Safina may decline or pause tuition where a student's needs cannot be supported safely or appropriately within an independent online tutoring arrangement.

8. Safeguarding records and privacy

Safeguarding information will be handled carefully and separately where appropriate. Records will be factual, proportionate and kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for safeguarding and legal purposes.

9. Raising a safeguarding concern

A parent, guardian or adult student who wishes to raise a safeguarding concern connected with Safina Tutoring Academy should contact [email protected] as soon as possible.

Academic Integrity Policy

1. Purpose

Safina Tutoring Academy supports students to understand, practise and improve their own academic work. Tuition is designed to build independence rather than replace the student's own thinking or assessed work.

2. What Safina can help with

  • Explaining subject content and difficult concepts.
  • Revision planning and exam technique.
  • Practising questions and reviewing model or practice responses.
  • Essay and report structure.
  • Planning, analysis, evaluation and critical thinking.
  • Academic writing skills and clarity of expression.
  • Referencing principles and how to use sources appropriately.
  • Presentation planning and communication skills.
  • Feedback on a student's own draft where this is permitted by the student's school, college or university.
  • Research planning and helping a student refine a question or approach without doing the research or assessed task for them.

3. What Safina will not do

  • Write or substantially rewrite an assessed assignment for a student.
  • Complete coursework, homework, reports, dissertations, projects, examinations or assessed tasks on the student's behalf.
  • Provide answers during a live test, examination or other assessment where outside assistance is prohibited.
  • Impersonate a student or log in to an assessment system as the student.
  • Fabricate references, quotations, research findings, data or evidence.
  • Help a student conceal plagiarism, contract cheating or another academic-integrity breach.
  • Guarantee a grade, result, admission decision or academic outcome.

4. Artificial intelligence and academic work

AI tools may be discussed as part of digital or study skills where appropriate, but students remain responsible for following the rules of their school, college, university or examination body.

Safina will not knowingly use AI to generate assessed work for a student to submit as their own, nor help a student disguise prohibited AI-generated work.

5. Student responsibility

Students are responsible for understanding and following the academic-integrity rules that apply to their course or assessment. If a student is unsure whether a form of help is permitted, they should check the relevant institution's rules or ask their teacher, lecturer or supervisor.

6. If a request crosses the boundary

Safina may refuse a request, redirect the session toward legitimate learning support or end tuition where a student repeatedly asks for work that would breach academic-integrity standards.

Complaints Procedure

1. Aim

Safina Tutoring Academy aims to provide a professional, reliable and respectful service. If something has gone wrong, Safina would like the opportunity to understand the concern and put matters right where reasonably possible.

2. Step 1 – Raise the issue

Please raise the concern as soon as reasonably possible by emailing [email protected]. Where possible, include:

  • Your name.
  • The student's name or reference, where relevant.
  • The date of the lesson, payment or event concerned.
  • A clear description of what happened.
  • Any relevant correspondence or evidence.
  • What outcome you are seeking.

3. Step 2 – Acknowledgement

Safina will normally acknowledge a formal complaint within 3 working days. If information is missing, Safina may ask for further details before the complaint can be fully considered.

4. Step 3 – Review and response

Safina will review the available information fairly and aim to provide a written response within 10 working days of receiving the information needed to consider the complaint.

If more time is reasonably required — for example because the issue is complex or relevant information is unavailable — the complainant will be told and given an updated expected response time.

5. Possible outcomes

Depending on the circumstances, an outcome may include:

  • An explanation or clarification.
  • An apology where appropriate.
  • A lesson being rearranged.
  • A reasonable credit or refund where justified.
  • A change to an administrative process.
  • Confirmation that the original decision or action was reasonable and will stand.
  • Ending the tutoring arrangement where continuation is no longer appropriate.

6. Final review

If you believe Safina has materially misunderstood the complaint, you may reply with any important information that was not previously considered and ask for a final review.

7. Safeguarding concerns

A concern involving a child's safety or welfare will be handled under the Safeguarding Policy rather than waiting for the ordinary complaints timetable.

8. Privacy

Complaint information will be handled in accordance with the Privacy & Cookie Notice and shared only where reasonably necessary to investigate, respond to or comply with legal or safeguarding obligations.
